2008 Officials Test

Youth Training (U.S. Lacrosse Level 1) sessions are held for prospective youth referees on a regular basis at various locations throughout Georgia.  This training is for those who are interested in officiating Boy’s lacrosse at the sub-High School (Youth) level.  The classroom training session is the first of four steps that must be completed to be a U.S. Lacrosse-trained Youth Official.

Upcoming Youth Training

None scheduled.

Youth Official Training Requirements:

  1. Attend Youth (Level 1) classroom training session
  2. Completion of the rules test - either written or online
  3. Completion of on field training
  4. Registration with U.S. Lacrosse as an official or a cross-participant.

Information about U.S. Lacrosse membership can be found online.

The field training is an actual game or scrimmage where the trainee officiates under the supervision of an experienced official. Trainees should wear comfortable clothes. Trainees must either bring a Fox 40 finger whistle or they can purchase one at the class. The cost of a whistle is approximately $7.

Both classroom and field training sessions are scheduled based on demand. Generally, there are no classes during the high school lacrosse season. For more information contact the Youth Trainer at youthtraining@galaxref.com.

The cost for the classroom training is $30 cash or check (preferred). Please bring the payment to the classroom training session. This fee covers the cost of the training materials from U.S. Lacrosse.
